WANT YOUR CHILD’S SCHOOL AND YOUR LOCAL PARKS TO STOP SPRAYING PESTICIDES?

We know pesticides can be dangerous to our kids and pets. The good news is that we don’t need pesticides to have beautiful lawns, parks, and sports fields. Grass that is grown organically is more drought-tolerant and more resistant to pests than conventionally managed grass. It’s time for a change.
Join Non-Toxic Schools, YardSmartMarin and many other local nonprofits on Wednesday, September 27 at 6 PM in Novato for a FREE community presentation from nationally renowned expert, Chip Osborne, to learn the basics about organic turf management. Jay Feldman, the director of Beyond Pesticides, will speak about the fully-funded 2 year programmatic support available to schools and towns that commit to go organic. When you leave, you’ll be ready to email your school administrators and town officials to convince them to adopt a healthier approach to turf management. Invite your moms’ group to join you for a fun and informative night out. There’s power in numbers so spread the word!
Want to learn even more? Come to the full-day technical training seminar on Thursday, September 28 in Petaluma so you can apply these cutting edge techniques in your own backyard. Too busy to work in the yard? Tell your gardener about this event! Make sure your town officials and school administrators are aware so they can register their landscaping maintenance staff. This is a can’t-miss opportunity for anyone who cares for lawns, sports fields, or parks.
