MARIN FOSTER CARE ASSOCIATION

The Marin Foster Care Association (MFCA) is at the forefront of support and advocacy for foster children and their dedicated caregivers. Our main programs are designed to support our mission of providing comprehensive resources that inspire and empower the Foster Care Community.
Our Opportunity Project provides grants for foster children to access academic support and enrichment activities in our resource-rich community. These activities are often the first steps toward regaining a sense of normalcy and stability after family separation.
MFCA’s Community Resource Center (CRC) located in San Rafael is filled with every item that a child needs to find comfort in a new home, all generously donated by corporate donors and the Marin community.
Community events and support forums bond Marin’s foster parents and offer opportunities to have fun and enjoy each other while celebrating their valuable work and the resiliency of the children they have welcomed into their homes.
Last year, our temporary COVID-19 Support Program transitioned into a permanent Caregiver Support Program, responding to increased needs, and making sure over 110 foster families had what they needed to continue to provide quality care for their foster children.
The Southern Marin Mothers’ Club donated $4,000 to the Marin Foster Care Association’s Opportunity Project last spring.

- Due to a lack of foster homes in Marin, 40% of Marin foster children are sent out of our county
