About this event
LIVE Webinar: Sleep Needs of Toddlers/Children (12 months–4 years)
As a child psychologist utilizing play-based activities, Dr. Millette had an insight that similar activities done at home by parents could help children to sleep. That was almost 20 years ago and Dr. Millette, and her team of associates, have been using the two-phase approach with great success with children all across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia. The program is also being used by non-profits that support military and low-income families. The two-phase approach can be individualized based on your child’s temperament, history, age/stage, developmental milestones, and sleep arrangement. The program can also be used for children with regulatory and behavioral challenges.
Topics:
Toddler/child (12 months-4 years) sleep needs
Developmental milestones and their impact on sleep/behavior
Why using a parent presence methods works
How to fix toddler/child sleep regressions
Nightmares and night terrors
Adjusting to start of school, new baby, potty learning
Naps transitions and when to drop naps
Weaning from breast, bottle, and pacifier
Discussion of Dr. Millette’s two-phase parent presence approach for helping your toddler/child feel safe settling and sleeping. Using Dr. Millette’s novel approach, children utilize play-based sleep activities/games to integrate sleep changes. Learn about the method and why it’s helping so many young children feel safe to separate from their parents at sleep time and sleep.
