Fall has officially arrived, and with Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to embrace the season by visiting a pumpkin patch. Whether you're looking for that ideal carving pumpkin, fun family activities, or just a charming fall atmosphere, Marin and Sonoma County offer several great options. Here are five popular pumpkin patches in the area that both locals and visitors love:


1. Nicasio Valley Farms Pumpkin Patch

Nestled in the heart of Nicasio, this pumpkin patch offers a beautiful, scenic setting. Visitors can choose from a wide variety of pumpkins while enjoying traditional fall activities like hay rides, a petting zoo, and a fun hay maze for the kids. It’s a great spot for families to experience the autumn spirit, take in the picturesque surroundings, and capture some memorable photos.




2. Petaluma Pumpkin Patch & Amazing Corn Maze

Sunday–Thursday, 10 am–6 pm, Friday & Saturday, 10 am–10 pm

Just a short drive from Marin, this patch in Petaluma is known for its vast selection of pumpkins and its enormous, challenging corn maze. It’s a perfect day trip for those looking to test their navigation skills while also enjoying seasonal activities such as corn maze, farm animals, and pony rides. The large farm provides plenty of space to explore, making it a hit for both kids and adults.






3. Pronzini Pumpkin Patch

Monday–Thursday, 11 am–6 pm; Friday–Sunday, 10 am–6:30 pm; Halloween (Thursday, October 31), 11 am–4 pm

Pronzini Farms Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma offers tons of fall fun for the whole family. With a vast u-pick pumpkin field, visitors can choose from a wide variety of pumpkins, perfect for carving or decorating. The farm is filled with exciting activities like games, a petting zoo with farm animals, and a spooky Haunted Village for those looking for a thrill. Enjoy BBQ from the Cowgirl Cafe and fresh kettle corn. Admission to the pumpkin patch is $5 per adult on weekdays (with free entry for kids 12 and under), and $10 per adult and $5 per child (ages 2–12) on weekends. Attractions have additional costs.






4. Grossi Family Farm Pumpkin Patch

Grossi Family Farm Pumpkin Patch offers a classic farm experience for the whole family. Here, you can pick your own pumpkins and gourds right from the field and enjoy a relaxing picnic surrounded by the beauty of the countryside. Kids will love making new furry friends at the petting zoo, exploring the toddler hay maze, and climbing the giant hay pyramid. For a bit of extra fun, try your hand at the mini pumpkin slingshot (3 shots for $10) and see how far you can launch a pumpkin! On weekends, enjoy tasty bites from the food truck while soaking in the festive fall atmosphere. It's the perfect place to spend a fall day with your family!




5. Mickelson Pumpkin Patch

Sunday–Thursday, 9 am–8 pm;  Friday & Saturday, 9 am–10 pm

Mickelson Pumpkin Patch, located just past the Marin-Sonoma county line off Highway 101, offers a fantastic selection of pumpkins, squash, and gourds, along with fun activities like a hay maze, hay pyramid, tractor rides, a paintball gallery, and an apple cannon. In addition to the attractions, they feature food vendors and even offer craft beer. Admission is free on weekdays (Monday–Friday) and $3 on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with some activities requiring an additional fee.





Each of these pumpkin patches brings something unique, offering a range of classic fall activities that make them ideal spots to celebrate the season. So, gather your loved ones, head out to one (or more!), and find the perfect pumpkin while enjoying the cozy autumn atmosphere!
